Our Pre-School
Our qualified practitioners provide stimulating and engaging resources to support and enhance children’s learning through play. We offer a wide range of carefully selected toys, play materials, and craft equipment for both indoor and outdoor activities. Key Practitioners have a strong understanding of their key children’s individual interests and use this knowledge to guide their planning.
Children enjoy a variety of experiences including singing, reading, puzzles, role play, and small world play.
We are fortunate to have a fantastic outdoor area featuring specialist play equipment, including a large sandpit, a spacious construction zone, dedicated role play areas, a mud kitchen, and a water play space. We also have access to the school playground for bikes and scooters, as well as a beautiful allotment area that offers gardening opportunities.
Our pre-school is located on the same site as Milford-on-Sea Primary School, which has enabled us to develop strong relationships with the school’s staff and children. This close connection helps ensure a smooth and supportive transition for children moving on to Milford Primary School.
We follow the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), which places the child’s future and best interests at its core. Our daily and weekly planning is guided by the four key principles of the EYFS:
Every child is a unique child, who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident, and self-assured.
Children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships.
Children learn and develop well in enabling environments, with teaching and support from adults who respond to their individual interests and needs, helping them to build their learning over time. Children also benefit from strong partnerships between practitioners and parents/carers.
The importance of learning and development – children develop and learn at different rates, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

We deliver the EYFS curriculum in a holistic, stimulating, and immersive way, always led by the children’s interests. Our approach covers the seven areas of learning and development, which include:
Prime areas: Communication and Language, Physical Development, and Personal, Social and Emotional Development
Specific areas: Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, and Expressive Arts and Design
We value strong communication with families and regularly share children’s learning through observations on Tapestry, as well as through a fortnightly newsletter. The newsletter is sent home with the children and is also available in the private blog section of our website.

Rates
£7.00 per hour
A £1 discretionary consumable daily charge will be added to your monthly invoice for every day that your child attends. This is to cover costs for snack, cooking activities and any extra costs.
When you register with us a refundable registration fee of £40 is required. This will secure your place and cover any admin costs.
Minimum 2 days attendance is advisable
We are part of Hampshire County Council’s Early Education Plan and can receive funding for eligible two, three and four year olds. This will enable them to have a free place for 15 or 30 hours per week during term-time., depending on what you are eligible for.

Our pre-school closes for holidays and inset days in line with Milford primary school. Dates can be found here.
We promote healthy eating and provide a healthy snack during a morning and afternoon session with a choice of milk or water.
We are now offering hot lunches provided by HungryMoose Catering. A hot lunch is charged at £2.80 per meal and is payable alongside your monthly invoices.
New Government funding for 2 year olds
If your child turns two on or before 31st March and you are an eligible working parent in England, you can apply for up to 15 hours childcare or early education per week, over 38 weeks of the year.
The deadline to apply is 31st March. We recommend you do so by the end of February to get your childcare code in good time. You will then need to provide us with the code in order for us to apply for the funding on your behalf.

Our hot meals are provided by a local company called HungryMoose. The meals are prepared off site and are delivered to us daily in thermal boxes. Heres what they have to say about the ingredients used in their meals…

If your child has any allergies you will be required to complete a detailed form provided by Hungry Moose Catering. Your child’s meal will be prepared under strict guidance according to their needs. Choosing hot meals and Payment
If you would like to opt in to our hot meals option then you will be charged £2.70 per meal. This will be added to your monthly invoice. If you no longer wish for your child to have hot lunches then you must give a months notice before opting out.
Unfortunately unlike at school, children aged under 4 are not eligible for free school meals. However if you are in receipt of pupil premium funding then we would be happy to use some of this to pay for your pre-school meals. Please speak to the business manager regarding this.

It’s never to early to put your child’s name down for our setting as our pre-school places fill up fast. If you would like to be added to the waiting list or want to book a visit to come and see our setting please complete the contact form below. Once your place has been confirmed we will require you to pay a £40 refundable registration fee.
